“I Know Everything “, what do you think after reading this statement? 1. Maybe the person really does know everything OR 2. The person is OVERCONFIDENT. What is Overconfidence? Let’s start from the basics and we’ll find the answer to this question soon. What is Confidence? According to Google,”Confidence is a state of being certain either that a hypothesis or prediction is correct or that a chosen course of action is the best or most effective. Confidence comes from a latin word ” FIDERE ” which means “TO TRUST“; therefore, having a self-confidence is having trust in one’s self. ” So in short CONFIDENCE IS TRUST right? Confidence is divided into three categories- 1. Confidence 2. Under confidence 3. Overconfidence According to me, Confidence, it is trusting yourself or someone else in a positive amount that is good. Example- I’ll score good marks in the exam as I’ve worked hard enough. Under confidence, it is when you trust someone or yourself but you also have doubts in your mind like if it is right. Example- I was studying from the past 1 month but I don’t know if I’ll be able to pass this exam or not. Overconfidence, it is the situation when you’re so confident about something or yourself that you ignore all the possibilities. This is the answer to that question. Example- I know i didn’t study at all, But i really don’t need to. I can write this paper in my sleep too. Calm Down Mr. KNOW IT ALL. The best thing about confidence is IF YOU HAVE THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF CONFIDENCE, EVERYONE WILL LOVE TO BE AROUND YOU.
